I hope I have trick or treaters for halloween. maybe I'll hang a sign advertising candy?

Two good things happened tonight. I got my next car payment -which isn't good- but I didn't get charged a late fee which I was expecting. I also got my refund check from paying that jerk at Pop-a-Lock in St. Augustine. Tomorrow after work I'm driving to Panama City to support the band as they play at FSU's BCM retreat. I hope it's fun; I think it will be.

OK. Here's a playlist from Paul McCartney's perfect show last Saturday night (Mandi, Paul's shirt makes me look prettier. I wore it Wednesday night and got many compliments, not on the shirt itself but on how nice I looked):

Magical Mystery Tour
Jet
I'll Get You in the End
Drive my Car
Til There Was You
Let Me Roll It
Got to Get You into My Life
It's a Fine Line
Maybe I'm Amazed
The Long and Winding Road
If You'll Be True To Me
I Will
Jenny Wren
For No One
Fixin a Hole
Cup of English Tea
I'll Follow the Sun
Follow Me
Blackbird
Elenor Rigby
Too Many People
She Came in Through the Bathroom Window
Good Day Sunshine
Band on the Run
Penny Lane
I've Got a Feeling
Back in the USSR
Hey Jude
Live & Let Die

-Encore-
Yesterday
Get Back
Helter Skelter
Please Please Me
Let it Be
Sargent Pepper
The End

I don't even have to say how amazing it was to be in the same room as Sir Paul McCartney, Beatle amazingextraordinaire. I'm so happy we went, and consider it money very well spent.

I decided that night of Paul Day that life is made up of moments. You cannot live in hope of the future, or in memories of the past. What you have is this moment, right now, to enjoy. I know this sounds said-before, but I think it's a verson of carpe diem in which, whatever it is, you should do it.

you know

You look skinny, you should eat something.
I really love your hair and your nails and those earings.
Did Paul fall through a trap door on stage that night?
I miss you and I cannot wait to see you soon.
I love you.

I'm not skinnier, I've been eating constantly. It is late though, which is why my eyes are tired.
Paul fell through a hole in the stage. Not really a trap door. His grand piano would rise up and down as he needed it, and the first time it came up he stepped backwards into it. He said some really funny things about the stage crew putting a picket fence around the hole for the next show. And he sat down on the bench and said, "You know what? I don't care."
I really did miss you in Bradenton. Wayne's birthday party was hilarious, with Margot there and all. I'm glad you'll be in town the next time I come. I think?
I love you so.

I can't imagine being disappointed with that setlist, but I sure would have wanted to hear "Golden Slumbers". Did he tell any stories or talk much?

And your short hair looks better than ever.

holy longest comment ever

You're right about Golden Slumbers, but I can't imagine Paul doing that by himself. He did tell good stories and talk much. He talked about the guitar exercise, it was kind of a scale, that they played wrong on purpose. And then he changed it a little bit and turned it into beautiful Blackbird (your song, as it happens). During Cup of English Tea he whistled. Have you heard his new album? And during Hey Jude at the end where he gets everyone to sing along, he said, "All right now, just the fellas, just the guys" and did some weightlifter poses. And when the girls sang along he danced his hips around like a woman. Mandi and I kept laughing at things he would do or say, but everyone around was quiet. I wanted to turn and say, "Isn't he delightful? Aren't you delighted?" During I'll Follow the Sun he kept duping us at the end. We would start clapping, and then they'd sing the last line again. He did it four times, I think. And there were more that I can't remember.

Thank you so much.

that's so cool

Hey, you don't know me. I found your site from Linsey's and I just wanted to say that I think it's really cool that you got to see Paul. My roommate in college went to a Ringo show just because it was Ringo (he still likes his solo stuff better than I do). Anyway, that's an incredible set list and I would love to hear "For No One" live. One of my favorite Beatles songs ever. Anyway, I'm jealous and envious. But, you write well and I've enjoyed reading what you have to say. Take care...
